Gasper is made by Avigage, a small company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We are a small team, and we watch a lot of horror. This page says who we are, why the app exists, and how to get hold of us when something breaks.

Who makes Gasper

Avigage builds small, specific software. Gasper is the app we built because we wanted it ourselves: a place to keep a record of every horror film we had seen, in the order it scared us, with a number that meant something and friends who would argue with it.

The team is small enough that the person who answers support email is also someone who built the ranking flow. A bug report reaches a human who can fix it, and the app has a point of view instead of a roadmap committee.

Why it exists

Every film logger we tried asked us to rate horror the way you rate a restaurant. Pick a star count, move on. That never worked, because the number we wanted to record was not how good but how scared, and because the stars we typed drifted with our moods until the whole history was meaningless.

So we built a logger where you never type a number. You answer "Which was scarier?" against films you have already ranked, and the app places the new one in your personal list, like a binary search. The scare score is the position, read as a number. It is the only thing the app ranks. For the films you love regardless of how scary they were there is a heart, Loved it, because scary and loved are different things and only one of them belongs on a ladder.

Then we made it horror only. Partly because horror is the only genre you come out of feeling more alive than when you sat down, and we wanted a community built around that feeling. Partly because "Which was scarier?" is only a fair question when both films are trying to scare you. Keeping every film here horror is what makes every score comparable with every other score, and what lets the Community Scare and your Scare Tolerance mean anything at all.

What leaves your phone

Your rankings feed the community averages only as an anonymous aggregate, and the things that leave your phone are deliberately few. If you let Gasper find friends from your contacts, only SHA-256 hashes of emails and phone numbers are sent, never the contacts themselves. Analytics are a small set of product events, enough to tell us whether a feature works. Crash reports go through PostHog, email through Resend, and the backend runs on Supabase. The privacy policy says all of this in the longer form.

Everything in the app is free, with no subscription and no paid tier. And if you want out, Settings has Delete account. Type DELETE and your rankings, follows, comments and likes are erased for good.

How to reach us

Email support@gasperapp.com. A human reads it and writes back. For something broken, tell us the film, the screen and what you expected. For something you think the app should do, tell us that too; a good share of the current feature list started as an email from someone annoyed.

The support page has answers to the questions we get most, and the help section covers the rest. Reports of posts, reviews, comments, lists or profiles made inside the app are reviewed within 24 hours. And if you just want to tell us what the scariest film you have ever seen is, that is a legitimate use of the address.
