One rank a week keeps it alive. Miss a due date and the streak freezes for three days. Rank in that window and it climbs again; still nothing on the fourth day and it drops to zero. It shows as a flame with "N-WEEK STREAK".
The details
The streak counts weeks, not days. Due dates sit on a fixed seven-day grid from your first rank: rank your first film on a Tuesday and every due date after that is a Tuesday. One rank anywhere in the week keeps the flame lit, and ten ranks in a week count the same as one.
When a due date passes with nothing ranked, the streak does not drop. It freezes for three days, and if you allow notifications the app tells you "Your streak is frozen". Rank anything in those three days and the streak climbs as if nothing happened. If the fourth day arrives with nothing ranked, the streak resets to zero, and your next rank starts a new one.
A rank means a film went through the head-to-heads and landed in your list. Adding to your watchlist, hearting or commenting does not count.
Why a week
Horror is not a daily habit for most people, and a daily streak would turn the app into a chore. A weekly streak is roughly the rhythm of a film club, and it can run for years. The first rank of each new week shows the streak as a card right after the result, and the streak has its own slide in your Bloodwork.
