Stealth mode: a rank that stays off the feed
Stealth modenoun
Stealth mode is Gasper's per-rank switch that hides that activity from the feed while the film stays in your rankings with its scare score.
Stealth mode is a switch on every rank. Leave it off and the rank goes to your followers' feeds and can reach Trending. Turn it on and it does not. The app says it in one line under the switch: "Hide this activity from the feed".
When to use it
Stealth mode is for rankings you want on the record without broadcasting. The fourth Saw sequel you ranked at one in the morning. A rewatch of something you have already posted about. The film still lands in your rankings, still gets a scare score, and still keeps your streak alive. It just does not push into anyone's feed.
You find it in the "Anything to remember?" card while you rank, next to the review, who you watched with and the tags. The sheet that explains it is titled "Who sees this".
How it fits with the other controls
Gasper has three layers. Stealth mode is per rank. A private account is per profile: new followers must be approved, so the profile, including every rank on it, is only seen by people you let in. Blocking is per person: a blocked account cannot see you and is not told. Reports cover any post, review, comment, list or profile and are reviewed within 24 hours.
None of these layers touches the Community Scare. Your score joins the average for a film as an anonymous aggregate whatever the switch says, because nobody can trace an average back to one member.
In Gasper
You set Stealth mode when you rank, and you can treat it as a habit if you prefer a quieter profile. Members who want nothing on the feed at all usually combine it with a private account, which keeps the profile to approved followers only. Lists have their own Private switch, separate from ranks, and a list is never posted to the feed either way.
Questions people ask
Is Stealth mode the same as a private account?
No. Stealth mode keeps one rank off the feed. A private account controls who can follow you and see the profile at all.
Does a stealth rank still count toward the Community Scare?
Yes. Your scare score joins the community average as an anonymous aggregate regardless of Stealth mode.
Does Stealth mode hide the film from my profile?
No. The film is still in your rankings, and anyone who can see your profile can see it there. Stealth mode is about the feed.
