Bloodwork: your fear stats as a tap-through story

Bloodworknoun

Bloodwork is Gasper's tap-through story of everything you have ranked: tolerance, scariest watch, hours, dominant fear, streak, Hottest Take, Deepest Cut and fear twin.

Your Bloodwork is your fear stats told as a story: the film that scared you most, the one you love most, how many hours you spent in the dark, the subgenre that keeps getting you, your streak, your Scare Tolerance, your Hottest Take, your Deepest Cut, your top watch partner and your fear twin, slide by slide.

What is in it

Every slide is drawn from your own rankings: your scariest watch by your own scare score, your favorite film from the ones you hearted, total hours watched, your dominant fear, your week streak, your tolerance. Then the three slides people share: the Hottest Take, the Deepest Cut and the top watch partner. Last, the fear twin, the member whose taste tracks yours most closely, with the match as a percentage.

It unlocks at five ranked films, the same point at which your scare scores do, and it is free, like the rest of the app.

Why a horror Bloodwork is different

A year-in-review for all your media tells you that you watched a lot. A record of your horror can tell you something about yourself. Whether your scariest watch was a slow-burn possession story or a loud slasher says what gets under your skin. Whether your tolerance sits at Steady Nerve or well off it says how the genre lands on you. Your fear twin is a person you should probably compare watchlists with.

Bloodwork is all time, not yearly. It is the Taste tab on your profile rendered for sharing, which is why the button that opens it reads "Show your Bloodwork".

In Gasper

Bloodwork draws only on films you ranked, so a run of watching without ranking produces a thin story. Every slide has a "Share this" button, and nothing is shared unless you do it yourself. Films, posters and credits in the story come from TMDb, like everywhere else in Gasper.

Questions people ask

Is Bloodwork free?

Yes. Like everything in Gasper, it is free, and every slide opens once you have ranked five films.

What is a fear twin?

The member whose taste matches yours most closely, shown as a percentage.

Is Bloodwork a year in review?

No. It is all time, drawn from the same stats as the Taste tab, so it is as complete in March as in December.
